Interschool

On Thursday the 7 of June Frankley school played Woodleigh for interschool. The Frankley school rugby team, Netball A and B teams played as did the soccer team but the hockey team didn't play as Woodleigh couldn't bring a Hockey team.

The scores were:
Rugby 50-0 to Frankley, Netball A 20-5 to Frankley, Netball B 11-6 to Frankley and  the Football was 3-0 to Woodleigh. The games were hard but Frankley got 3 wins and Woodliegh 1.

So far our rugby team is undefeated whilst both the Football and Netball team are on track to make the semi finals. Go Frankley!!!!

Interschool V Spotswood
On Thursday the 17 of May Spotswood Primary came to Frankley for the second Interschool challenge of 2012.
Our Hockey side started things off with a hard fought 3 all draw. A late goal from Phoebe - her first in the Frankley colours ensured both schools remained on even ground in the overall challenge stakes. This was a great performance considering U11 reps Katie and Karis were playing Netball in this challenge. This was also the first official game of Hockey on our new "tiger turf" court.
Our Netball B side were all class winning 19-0. This was their second comfortable victory in this competition in a row and certainly bodes well for future inter school challenges.
Our Football team won 3 - 0 making it 2 from 2 for them this season. Whilst our playing field is somewhat smaller than a normal field our Frankley team were still able to create and find enough space to score at even intervals throughout the match.
Our Rugby team won 41 - 5 also making it 2 from 2. Oliver was strong running the ball back from kicks using his right hand fend to good effect whilst Jake was committed to tackling low and cleaning out rucks every minute he was on the field.
Netball A got off the mark in this competition and are now looking good to make the semi finals. The victory was comfortable and reward for the handwork the girls have been putting into training recently.

Also of note was the way the Frankley students hosted their counterparts. Speeches by Katie, Stella, William, Ben and Phoebe were outstanding. Each speaker showed that they understood how the game was won and lost, noticed players on their own side and the opposition who performed well, were humble in victory and thanked the refs by name. The ability to do this indicated that each speaker is becoming a well rounded sporting leader.

The mingling of players after the game was quite special with players content to sit and chat with their opponents and showed again the power that sport has in bringing people together. Photos coming soon.

Interschool V Oakura
On Thursday the 3th of may Frankley School went out to Oakura School to play Rugby, Netball A and B and Football. Frankley did a great job the scores were Rugby 50-0 to Frankley. Football 7-1 to Frankley Netball A team 4-6 to Oakura and Netball B 26-1 to Frankley. After the games we had some afternoon tea and that was good. Look at the photos of the day. :)
